A simple grinder set up guide we did quickly for our users. • [IMPORTANT UPDATE 2021, PLEASE READ] • 1. In the video stated at 2:03, it states that a new grinder should be turned 25 full rounds to get it closer to espresso grind size. This is no longer true. • We will suggest turning 7 to 10 full rounds and fine tune from there instead. • 2. In the video, the stated 25ml (+-2.5ml) in 25 seconds is from each sprout. For a double portafilter, the total content should be 50ml (+-5ml) in 25 seconds. • 3. 25ml in 25 seconds is closer to Italiano standard but that would only work well using dark roast and preferably with Robusta. • 4. If you are using a medium or lighter roast, pure Arabica, we will suggest increasing it to 16g to 22g. The more coffee used, the easier it gets to a perfect extraction • 5. You can consider shortening to 20 seconds which should reduce the astringent or drag the extraction a little longer if it's abit too acidic. A 15 seconds extraction is a ristretto. • • [IMPORTANT!!] • Never put your finger into the grinder. • The guide focuses on using a double portafilter. You can use the same instructions to use for a Single. • For grinders that have a few programmable buttons like the Quamar M80E, Q50E, etc. You will need to go to the programming mode and program the timing. • No matter what grinder that you have, tuning the grinder with wide adjustments when the hopper is loaded. Increase the risk of getting the grinder jamming. • If that's the case, tune the grinder coarser until the trapped coffee bean release from its stuck spot. • • FAQ: • Q: Why aren't there no markers on the Bezzera BB005 Grinder? • Ans: You don't really need the markers, as coffee won't remain in the same condition. • You will need to tune the grinder depending on the status of your beans all the time, and knowing at which mark won't really help. • Also, different type of coffee may require different amount of coffee in one dose.
