Cartoons today owe a lot to shows that came before them in terms of how they changed things in the industry and the boundaries that they pushed. • I don't think shows like Adventure Time or Spongebob could exist, or at least not to the extent that they do without a show called Ren and Stimpy. • This show is about Ren, a dog, and Stimpy, a cat, that go on all sorts of wacky adventures filled with a lot of slapstick comedy and gross out moments. • What made this show stick out was it's animation style and how they would do these close ups of the characters to highlight something gross or just show something off to the extreme. • Though it may have been influential in the animation world is it worth going back and watching it again?
