Made with soaked sabudana (sago pearls), mashed potatoes, and simple spices, this vrat-friendly thalipeeth is both easy to prepare and full of flavor. #sabudanathalipeeth #vratkakhana #fastingrecipes • ▶Click here for more millet recipes: • Millet Grain Bowl Recipe with Roasted... • ▶Don't forget to like, comment, and subscribe for more such unique exciting recipes! • Fun Fact: Sabudana is not a grain but a processed starch extracted from tapioca roots, making it a popular ingredient for fasting recipes. • Preparation time: 10 minutes • Cooking time : 15 minutes • Ingredients (2 pax): • Crushed Peanuts - 1/2 cup • Ghee/oil - 2 tbsp • Cumin powder - 2 tsp • Green chilli - 2-3 (chopped) • Potato (boiled diced) - 2 • Diced ginger - 2 Tbsp • Sabudana (soaked over 2 hours) - 1 cup • All purpose flour - 1/2 cup • Salt to taste • Lemon juice - 1/2 lemon • Fresh Dill/coriander - a handful (chopped) • Instructions: • 1. Mash potatoes in a big bowl. Add chopped green chillies, crushed roasted peanuts, ginger, dill, cumin powder, flour and sabudana and mix well. Add a bit of water if required, add salt and lemon juice to taste. • 2. Mix well to make a big dough and break it into portions. • 3. Add some oil or ghee on your palms and press a potion of the dough to make a nice flat thalipeeth. Add a whole or two in the middle for the heat to pass. Can use a baking sheet to avoid sticking to hands. • 4. Set a flat fry pan over high flame once it gets hot, add ghee or oil (1 Tbsp). • 5. Add the flat thalipeeth to the pan and let if fry till slightly golden. Flip over to see both sides are done well. The right amount can be decided based on the crunch you prefer. • 5. Serve it with some hot piping ginger chai and/or mint chutney.
