Melaprapti is a rhythmic recitation that is performed at the beginning of a Bharatanatyam dance performance. It is a way for the dancer to warm up their body and prepare for the performance. Melaprapti is also a way for the dancer to connect with the audience and create a sense of anticipation. • The dancer begins by reciting the solkattu, which is the rhythmic syllables that correspond to the different beats of the talam. The dancer then adds in some adavus, which are basic dance movements. The dancer gradually increases the speed and complexity of the adavus until they are dancing in a full-fledged jathi, which is a complex rhythmic pattern. • Melaprapti is a beautiful and expressive dance form that is a vital part of Bharatanatyam. It is a way for the dancer to show their mastery of rhythm and their ability to connect with the audience through movement. • • / nrpacnj • / navaranjitha • / navaranjitha • https://www.nrpac.com/ • Choreographed by Guru Rashmi Sudheendra • Vocal and Music - Smt.
