@kennethpenrose9975 Quainton Road, Buckinghamshire (now The Buckinghamshire Railway Centre) in 1973 filmed with Super 8 Cine film. Sorry it is so washed out. I don't know whether it is the result of my filming and/or the development of the film and/or the DVD transfer. I visited Quainton Road (the first of many visits) after watching the late Sir John Betjeman's marvellous BBC programme about the Metropolitan Railway and its farthest outposts and entitled Metroland. For some years thereafter I became a bit obsessed with this railway and the Brill Tramway aka The Oxford and Aylesbury Tramroad which also commenced its journey to Brill from this station. It's amazing that both the Verney Junction branch to Aylesbury and the Brill Tramway were once part of the Metropolitan Railway and later London Transport. I was also interested in the sister branch to the Brill Tramway, the Kingsword Branch which was the Duke of Buckingham's railway. This interest resulted in all kinds of research including visiting the then Public Records Office (now the National Archive) and the British Library and included the perusal of some very old documents and maps. Some of this I related to and discussed with Bill Simpson who went on to write two very good and well illustrated books about the Brill Tramway.
