The G forces in Naval Aircraft Carrier operations are well within human limits. For dogfighting aircraft in Air Combat Maneuvering [ACM] the negative G envelope may be available depending on the aircraft and external stores. Negative G is very uncomfortable but can be very effective in shaking off a pursuing bogey. • My research lead me to NASCAR, where I learned how extreme lateral G forces can be experienced and are deadly if the driver is not properly equipped with a HANS device: a device that became mandatory equipment after Dale Earnhardt's death. Details follow in this video. • Some humor also follows as I describe taking a French Air Force pilot for his first launch and recovery off the carrier SARATOGA. • • Please use this link to support The wounded Warrior Project.
