Good luck! • Please consider supporting my projects on Patreon: / austinblake • In this video I finally complete the drift trike build as well as go over some problems I had along the way! Unfortunately I made a mistake when making my battery pack. The problem was with the LG cells that I purchased. I bought them because they each have a capacity of 2600mAh but I completely looked over the discharge rate which is 500mA standard and 5A maximum. Having 7 of these cells in parallel only gives me a maximum discharge rate of 35A which is not enough because my controller can draw a lot more current than that especially during acceleration. • If you watched my previous video you will see that I used 8 Sony VTC5 cells because I needed more cells to complete my battery. These Sony cells have the same 2600mah capacity as the LG cells although they have a maximum continuous discharge rate of 20A which means 7 of these Sony cells wired in parallel will give me a maximum discharge rate of 140A which is more than enough current for the trike. • So what I did was order 83 more of the Sony cells as well as a new BMS. I will rebuild the battery before the the final test video which will be uploaded very soon!
