Do not stay glued to default setting and tweak your Xiegu G90 receiver to quiet and smooth. • Key settings are: • Filters BW and RF Gain vs AF Gain • Try to play with these settings to reduce noise floor on receive. • Filters BW: narrowing bandwidth as low as 100Hz can reduce the noise significantly. • RF Gain: keep the RF Gain setting as low as the station will start to drop in signal level noticeably. This RF Gain threshold will keep noise at lowest possible level. • AF Gain: Do not forget that AF Gain (volume knob) is the correct tool for increasing the audio level of your receiver - not RF Gain... Try to keep AF Gain at the threshold where you are starting to notice an additional hum or audio noise in your headphones or internal speaker.
