Red pandas come from a mountainous part of China that is going away due to deforestation. Red pandas spend most of their time in trees in the wild, and in China where they're from the trees have a lot of red leaves, so there they are camoflaged. Here at the Houston Zoo Toby the red panda feels perfectly comfortable on the ground or in his favorite tree.
