Saab built in a BDM connector to their Trionic 5 and Trionic 7 ECU:s so that they can be rescued even when they appear bricked. In this video, I show how to open up the ECU and solder the BDM connector. Then we use the Combi Adapter and flash a new bin with BDM Tool. • Please note: Since publishing this video I have learned that drilling is very risky and can cause permanent damage to the ECU. As always, proceed with caution and instead consider desoldering. • These instructions apply to all Saab cars that run Trionic 5 or Trionic 7, including the Saab 900, Saab 9000, Saab 9-3 and Saab 9-5. • You can get johnc's Combi Adapter here: • http://www.trionictuning.com/forum/vi... • There was a lot of background noise in the lab, so I had to perform some digital noise reduction, that's the reason for the strange audio. • Trionic Seven is the YouTube channel for Saab enthusiasts. • Follow us on social media: • Google+: https://plus.google.com/+TrionicSeven • Facebook: / seventrionic • Twitter: / trionicseven • Reddit: / trionicseven • Instagram: / trionicseven
