What's important is you know what you mean when you use these words and definitions. • Here are our definitions: • MISSION is that statement about why you exist. Write it in a to verb structure. Why do you do what you do? • VALUES are your core beliefs, and guiding principles that govern everything you do. They shape the culture and inform your vision. You should have 3-5 core values for your organization. • VISION is a picture of a preferred future. It should be informed by your values and mission. We recommend NOT to write a vision statement. The reason is because if you have a mission and vision statement, they end up competing, and worst of all, no one remembers either one!
