So again, the whisker is the lower of the lowest value or 1.5 times the box. • The outliers are any values outside of 1.5 times the box. • If a box is all yellow, that means there's no difference between the 1st quartile and the medium. If a box is all green, there's no difference between the 3rd quartile and the median. • Let's run a Box and Whisker Chart using QI Macros. • Basically, you would select your columns of data, go to the QI Macros pulldown menu, and select Box and Whisker. • Now, the Box and Whisker Chart Macro is going to ask you whether your data is sorted by rows or columns. If we answer rows, we will get a chart that looks like this; if we go back to our data, choose box and whisker, and say that our data is actually organized by columns (meaning we want one box per column) then we'll get data for each box and whisker for each column. • And that's how you run a Box and Whisker Chart in QI Macros.
