Play on Linux is a wrapper for Wine to play Windows games and applications on Linux • Play On Linux manages all your Wine prefixes and other Wineisms so that running Windows applications and games is as easy as possible. • POL isn't really affiliated with the Wine project, and doesn't attempt to re-engineer Wine or anything like that. It is literally a GUI on top of your Wine prefixes to make it easier to manage them. • Wine stands for Wine is not an emulator, and runs on pretty much any distro of Linux, including Ubuntu. • Lutris is another application that can install and launch Wine games for you but Lutris is more of a game launcher, whereas Play On Linux is more of a game manager. • In this video, I tested out Skyrim and Star Wars Old Republic.
