This video is a review of the the BRK hardwired smoke alarm. • These products are included in many newer construction homes nowadays with the ease using the power to manage the smoke alarm and having a battery as a backup. • This is the same maker as the First Alert brand as well. • It's not that easy to change the battery on the unit, you will have to pull the battery out and slide the new battery in at an angle with the right leads for + and - for it to work. Make sure you test the beep after installing the battery in it. • To take out, twist the alarm unit counter close-wise. To install back, just do the reverse. • To Remove battery, tilt 9V battery at angle downward and pull out. • Note: The + needs to be right side to go in or the battery will not go into the compartment. • There is a hole that allow the terminals to prevent wrong connection so it will go in only 1 way. • Note if you still hear chirps after 30mins, I found the battery is not installed right or sensor is dirty with dust. • I found twisting the detector blowing the dust off helps. • Then reinstalling the battery, the fire detector is working fine. • If the test button works and beeps, green light is on and doesn't beep by itself anymore. Your install is now good. • More manuals on hardwired smoke detectors are found here: • http://www.brkelectronics.com/product...
