The Malanda BioBlitz was a 24-hour survey to try and assess the biodiversity of a revegetated urban park situated in Malanda, Queensland, Australia. Our video explores the behind-the-scenes of the BioBlitz, including interviews with Gemma Horner, the coordinator of the event. Certain events, like freshwater-invertebrate collections, are shown, as well as our pinning tutorial with Angus Emmott, a local specimen curator. The specimens collected will hopefully be showcased at the School for Field Studies museum for future students to come. • We would like to acknowledge and thank the traditional owners of the Malanda BioBlitz site that we have been working on, the Elders of the Ngadjon-Jii peoples, past, present, and emerging. • We would like to thank David Tng and Deborah Apgaua for their guidance throughout the DR process. In addition, we would like to thank Gemma Horner for coordinating the Malanda BioBlitz. Thank you to our lovely interviewees, Angus Emmott and Gemma Horner. Another thanks to Anna Chahuneau for her knowledge and guidance on the video-making process. • EDIT: The Malanda BioBlitz data is still being updated, and you can find an updated count of observations at: https://inaturalist.ala.org.au/projec...
