The full Crossrail route isn’t opened until late 2019, but did you know that part of it is already running? • The new purple TfL Rail line, that appeared on the latest version of the tube map, runs from Liverpool Street to Shenfield. Despite its current name, TfL Rail is getting the first batch of Crossrail trains, which roll out in May 2017. • We went along for a cab ride with one of the drivers to find out what the line is like at the moment, and how he's looking forward to being part of London’s groundbreaking new railway. • Update: When the new Crossrail trains start running they will be seven cars in length, later extending to nine cars with the option to be 12 cars in length in the central section of London. • Original article on Londonst here: https://londonist.com/2015/12/video-t...
