Inject distally the Chennai cocktail and be amazed at the spectacular proximal effect. The special concoction ensures that the effects last for 4 days to a week, giving enough time to break the pain-anxiety cycle, and allow aggressive rehabilitation of the patient. • The Chennai Cocktail contents: • 3 ml 1% Xylocard (plain lignocaine without adrenaline or preservative) • 30 micrograms Clonidine • 1ml or 40 mg or triamcelone acetate (Depomederol or kenacort) • 0.3 ml of Vitamin C injection (Ascorbic acid) • Dilute with 4 ml distilled water • This gives us 7.5 ml of the cocktail, the chief ingredient being Sodium Channel blockers in an acidic medium with a Ph of below 3.5. • If ascorbic acid is not available, you can omit that, and the cocktail still works. • The complete rationale and theory behind thsi procedure is fully described in the wonderful book “Orthopaedics Beyond Books”.
