Septerra Core is what you get when you combine an experimental battle system from the late 90s, with Monkey Island, Sci Fi weirdness, and a bit of B-tier dev jank - and actually have it come together pretty good . It earns its cult classic status, and is pretty fun in general - though has enough quirks to make it a solid 7 out of 10 game. • And yes, the battle system is like if a jRPG and a cRPG had a baby - real time with pause meets Chrono Trigger if you will. (also has a mildly confusing ending).
