This truly is a battle of the affordable speaker titans. • amazon links below • For testing purposes, and because I use my speakers with grills on unless my daughter is not home, I tested these speakers with all grills installed. • With the grills off the pioneer and ELAC gain .5 - 1db in treble, and the Sony remain the same. • The ELAC have a removable metal grill under the cloth one, see my video on how to remove this. • This does help the treble, but not enough that I would recommend doing this if you have children or pets that may damage the speaker.
