Soprano: • Mozart - KV626 - Requiem - 1 - Introi... • Alto : • Mozart - KV626 - Requiem - 1 - Introi... • Tenor : • Mozart - KV626 - Requiem - 1- Introit... • Bass : • Mozart - KV626 - Requiem - 1 - Introi... • Score : • Mozart - KV626 - Requiem - 1- Introit... • Alto Choir Practice: “Domine Jesu” from Mozart’s “Requiem Mass in D minor”, KV626. As part of the Offertorium, Domine Jesu harkens back to a Baroque fugal style that loses none of its Mozartean beauty. Domine Jesu, for soloists and chorus, seemed to have been created with a less edgy electricity than were the previous movements, and it ends in exquisite harmonies. Domine Jesu contains vocals and bass composed by Mozart with the rest provided by Süssmayr after Mozart's death. • Sed signifer sanctus Michael • repraesentet eas in lucem sanctam. • Quam olim Abrahae promisisti • et semini ejus. • Lord Jesus Christ, King of glory, • liberate the souls of the faithful, • departed from the pains of hell • and from the bottomless pit. • Deliver them from the lion's mouth, • lest hell swallow them up, • lest they fall into darkness. • Let the standard-bearer, holy Michael, • bring them into holy light. • Which was promised to Abraham • and his descendants.
