Bones of the foot provide the mechanical support of the body; holding its weight while supporting posture and motion. • • Also you will find it divided into 3 regions: Hindfoot (talus calcaneus), Midfoot (navicular, cuboid, cuneiforms), Forefoot (metatarsals phalanges) • • ✅ Tarsals • ⁣⁣⁣ • 7 irregularly shaped bones that are situated proximally in the foot near the ankle area. • • We have the: • • Talus (ankle bone) connects with the tibia and fibula bones of the leg. • • Calcaneus (heel bone) is the largest tarsal bone and it sits below the talus and plays a role in supporting our body weight. • • Tarsals (5 in total) form the arch of the midfoot.
