One of the things I love about Elena of Avalor is the character development and the fleshed out characters, allowing me to edit with different facettes of relationships. :DD • This video is about Mateo and Elena being each other's light in the darkness. • A funny coincidence: This morning I found lovelyrugbee's picture depicting exactly the same situation I made a manip of. There is absolutely no connection and it was fun to look at the scene with amazingly drawn expressions: http://lovelyrugbee.tumblr.com/post/1... • I added a few Sofia clips to show the time when Elena was still trapped, though I have never watched Sofia and the only thing I know is that Cedric wants to steal the Amulet for power. That is why I made him the comparison to Mateo: Elena feels that Cedric is the wrong sorcerer to help freeing her because he has selfish intentions. • PLOT: • After Shuriki murders Elena's parents, the Amulet of Avalor traps her inside for protection. After 41 years Elena is in the hands of Sofia, who has no idea and cannot hear Elena's cries at first. She is aware of the world outside and comepletely alone for 41 years, reliving the memory of her parent's murder again and again. • Cedric the Sorcerer tries to steal the Amulet to gain power. Elena needs a wizard to help freeing her, but she instantly feels that Cedric isn't the one. • After Alakazar has informed Sophia about Elena and they are finally back in Avalor, his daughter Rafa shuts the door in Sophias face. She is afraid of Shurikis soldiers if anyone asks about the past. Elena is desperate, but suddenly she hears a voice. • Mateo, Alakazar's grandson has overheard his mother's conversation and wants to help. He has been studying magic in hiding for years and as soon aas Elena sees Mateo and he touches the Amulet she knows he is the one who will play the key role in freeing her. • -- • After Rita/Carla's betrayal Mateo has nightmares, blaming his foolish crush on Rita and shortsightedness for not noticing that she was a spy in disguise, enabling Shuriki to gain the Scepter of Night. • Elena encourages him that it wasn't his fault. • No matter what happens, Elena and Mateo are there for each other to step out of the darkness together.
