Soil Moisture Monitoring System Using Soil Moisture Sensor With Breadboard • Many times, due to our negligence or due to the reason that we are away from our home, we are unable to take care of our plants which makes them eventually die due to the shortage of water. What is the solution then? I say, soil moisture sensor. • A soil Moisture Sensor is a low-cost electronic sensor used to detect the moisture of the soil. This sensor helps in measuring the volumetric content of water inside the soil i.e. how moist is the soil. This sensor consists of mainly two parts viz. sensing Probes and sensor module. • Sensing Probes consist of two nickel-coated copper tracks and two header pins connected to the two copper tracks to help in passing the current through the soil and get resistance value depending on the moisture value in the soil.
