Sepsis. Michael Rovzar, M.D., of Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, California, discusses a very serious condition called sepsis. Dr. Rovzar says sepsis is an infection that breaches local barriers and becomes blood-borne throughout the body. He says sepsis can lead to low blood pressure, organ failure, and a serious risk of dying.
