Eidos-Montréal said it was coming in a later patch and now that patch is finally here. The Guardians of the Galaxy 1.05 update patch notes not only add ray tracing to the PS5 and Xbox Series X (but not the Series S), but it fixes a few bugs as well. A PC patch is tentatively scheduled for November 19.” • From GGRECON • “According to Kotaku, the team at PCSX2 has made great headway in emulating PS2 games. There are currently 2,689 games in the database, with over 97% being marked in the playable category. Be warned though, being playable isn't going to give the same nostalgia of booting up Shadow of the Colossus or Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater like back in the day. Still, it's probably better than the GTA Trilogy remaster.” • From TECHNCLUB • “Sony is planning to introduce the long-awaited VRR update not only for the PS5 in December, but for all compatible TVs that will then also receive the upgrade. The President of Value Electronics is now explaining why the whole thing is taking so long to come. In an interview with Robert Zohn, Founder of Value Electronics, who goes apparently deeper into the matter, some changes to the CEC protocol (Consumer Electronics Control) are coming up, including the CEC-Link, Arc, and eArc. Their specifications are updated within HDMI, which Sony would like to wait and see before finally implementing VRR etc.”
