#shorts • Hi there! In this video, we are covering the applications of dot product! In previous videos, we covered what dot product is and how we can calculate it, but this video will focus on what we can do with dot product when we solve it! The four major applications of dot product include: • 1) Solving for the angle between two vectors or between two lines, or at higher dimensions, solving for the angle between vectors/lines and a plane or between two planes! If we have the right information, this is much faster than using trigonometry or analytic geometry to solve for the angles! • 2) To determine if two vectors are perpendicular, or to find a perpendicular vector to a given vector! This is due to cosine of 90 degrees being equal to zero, meaning the dot product of perpendicular vectors will always be zero! • 3) To determine the projection of a vector on another vector!
