Abandoned Pennsylvania Turnpike Tunnels in Breezewood

Abandoned Turnpike Tunnels in Breezewood, PA • I went and videod the 8.5 trail step by every step starting on the Breezewood side and headed out thru both tunnels and stopping at the jersey barrier a mile past the 2nd tunnel. • I made a breif 4 min intro explaining the trail before the video of the trail starts. • The 1st tunnel which is Ray's Hill Tunnel is 1.5 miles from the start and is roughly .65 miles long. Then it's 3.2 miles in between the two tunnels, till you get to Sideling Hill Tunnel which is 1.3 miles long. I shined light on the side of Ray's hill a couple times to show the graffiti but I didn't want to show to much in case it showed something offensive. But there is alot of graffiti of all kinds on the walls and even on the trail itself, so be prepared for it because some of it is offensive in nature. • You do need a light to see in both tunnels. While Ray's you can see the end pretty good Sideling you cannot, it's also about 60 in that tunnels. Just be careful inside the tunnels because occasions someone leaves bottles or spray paint cans inside so you don't want to trip. • Take lots of hydration with ypu in the summer if running or walking the sun beats down pretty good on the trail plus the asphalt while faded does radiate the heat back up from the ground. • It is a nice trail to visit so look around.
