Food markets have existed for millennia. Yet in past decades, a combination of forces – from corporate concentration to underinvestment in municipal infrastructure – has led to the neglect of territorial markets. Territorial markets are critical public spaces where traditional, healthy, biodiverse crops are still found, where smallholder farmers have the option to sell directly to consumers and reduce dependence on intermediaries, and consumers have a chance to buy fresh food directly from farmers. • Join us to hear from grassroots, farmer-led networks from Asia, Africa, and Latin America about their experience revitalizing fresh food markets and strengthening links among farmers, consumers, and public officials. We'll also learn about the main findings of the Food from Somewhere report on the status of territorial markets launched by The International Panel of Experts on Sustainable Food Systems (IPES-Food). • 00:00:00 - 00:14:46 Introduction • 00:14:47 - 00:28:31 Logeswary Ponniah and Dr. P.P.
