This week in the early mornings I went out to do 50mm street photography with my Leica M10R here in NYC. Fall in New York is one of the best times of the year for capturing dramatic and cinematic street photographs, particularly during the early morning hours when the sun rises and perfectly aligns with the city's grid. The lighting is incredible. • But if you've been following my channel you're probably aware that I've spent most of the past year shooting with a 28mm lens. But my street photography journey began years ago with a 50mm lens (back then I was on the trusty “nifty fifty”). the 50mm offers incredible versatility, adding a distinctive cinematic quality to shots because of its visual compression and ability to enhance layering in your photos. • In this video, I decided to revisit my roots and shoot with my original lens love - the 50mm lens. I’ll share good photos and the bad shots and show you some of my favoriate locations in the city for street photography, especially during those magical early morning hours.
