Getting snare wires installed properly can sometimes be a challenge and if it's not done right, getting a good, consistent sound from your snare drum is incredibly difficult. • In this episode, we demonstrate our mounting methods for a set snare wires with a strap on a modern Tama Starclassic snare drum vs. mounting wires with string on a vintage 1960's Ludwig Acrolite with a Ludwig P83 snare strainer in order to maximize the usable tension range so you can adjust your batter and snare side tension without needing to do more than dial in the snare strainer tension. This isn’t the only way to install wires but it’s what’s worked well consistently for us and is the approach we’ve taken with all previous videos showcasing snare drums. • • Hosted by: Cody Rahn • Production: Ben O'Brien Smith @ Cadence Independent Media • Can't get enough of Sounds Like a Drum?
