The Caldera de los Marteles is a volcanic caldera in Gran Canaria . It is located in the eastern part of the island's summit, delimited by the municipalities of Valsequillo , San Bartolomé de Tirajana , Santa Lucía de Tirajana , Ingenio , Agüimes and Telde , and covering an area of 3,568.7 ha . To the west it adjoins the protected landscape of Las Cumbres and the Nublo rural park , while to the east it adjoins the protected landscape of Lomo Magullo and the natural monument of El Nublo.Guayadeque Ravine . This space was declared a special nature reserve on November 16, 1994. • In the reserve, phonolitic lavas and ignimbrite mantles from the first volcanic cycle of the island are observed, together with materials from the Roque Nublo cycle. This stacking of materials is traversed by the injection of volcanic chimneys of phonolites. Dikes are also frequent around the caldera and in the Mocanal massif.
