For a sourdough bread, this is the easiest way to make a no-knead bread. • That's why we are using whatever flour we have on hand to make bread and a plastic oven bag. • In a bowl, we are going to integrate all the ingredients. You don't have to knead them, just mix them and let them knead by themselves for 4 hours (this process is called autolysis π€) • While we were waiting, we used Brod and Taylor's French press to make ourselves a nice cup of coffee. However, we ran out of milk but that didn't stop us from upcycling the carton and using it as a banettone to make our bread. π • After the 4 hours, you have to shape the batard and then take it to the refrigerator (5°C/41°F) until the next day to bake it in the plastic oven bag at 240°C/464°F for 20 minutes. Then, open the bag and bake it for 20 more minutes till golden brown. • Here is the recipe from the video to make a 500gr loaf. • Ingredients: • All-purpose flour: 275 grs • Water: 195 grs • Sourdough: 55 grs • Salt: 5 grs • You can get your own French Press, Dough Whisk and Precision Scale from Brod and Taylor using our link: http://brodandtaylor.com/GLUTENMORGENTV π • Some important baking #tips: • π Your sourdough starter must be very active before baking. • π If your starter is not active enough, refresh it and let it rest on a warm place until it triples in size. • π You can replace your starter with a Poolish, you would need to make it a few hours in advance to have it ready to bake.
