June 2009...This is the grave site of John Henry (Doc) Holiday located in the Linwood (old Pioneer) Cemetery which is on a boot mountain located in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. Getting up to this cemetery is a hike...approximately 1/2 mile but it also feels like you are going straight up on a dirt and rock path. For all you low altitude people...take your time and take PLENTY of water with you as there is nothing at the cemetery except spruce trees and graves. If nature calls...find a bush. As a bonus, I have provided a link to the grave site of Johnny Ringo... http://www.ghosttowns.com/states/az/j... ... and rumor has it that Doc killed Johnny to protect his good friend Wyatt Earp before Doc went to Glenwood Springs to try to improve his health,but this couldnt have happened because Doc was in Colorado at a court hearing when Johnny Ringo was killed. Wyatt has always claimed that he did it, but some think that Ringo killed himself. This was all back in the day when Doc was riding with Wyatt to clean up Arizona from a gang called The Cowboys.
