So basically in 1080p low presets the 12600k stock is only 7.5% faster in average than a good overlocked 5960x, mostly thanks to its quad channel ! So if you play in 1440p high/ultra settings you should have almost no difference whatsoever. • !!! Important notes to the rigs and test methodology !!! • I decied to use low presets to push the CPU to his limit and ensure i wasn't GPU limited in any situation, sure even on high i'd still be CPU limited but the gap wouldn't be as high. • Also for some reason recording on the 5960x rig was losing me around 5% performance even though i used the GPU to record while i wouldn't lose more than 1-2% on the 12600k so the gap is actually even less then 7.5% but to be fair E cores will help for mutitasking like discord open and other softwares or videos in the background which will give it a decent lead in real use situation. • Also i'm using above average B-die ram speed for the 12600k which give it a boost in some games, most people will use common 3200mhz kits for i5 CPUs. • And the kit i'm using on my 5960x is actually not that great since it's not B-die, i could achieve higher performance with better ram. • Used W10 with latest build in both rigs with latest Nvidia drivers and game versions • Rigs were using a different 3080 each, 5960x used a FE and 12600k a EVGA FTW3 ULTRA • • 00:00 Shadow of the Tomb Raider • 01:24 Cyberpunk 2077 • 02:31 Horizon Zero Dawn • 04:17 Warzone • 05:39 Death Stranding • 06:39 Metro Exodus
