How to Support Growing Broad Beans

This short video shows you how to easily support your broad beans; they don’t cling on and climb so they need more support than peas. One of the easiest ways is just with canes and string. We are only supporting a short row in a raised bed but if you have a long row it will also be necessary to criss-cross the row with string. Watch out for black fly on the tender new growth; the best way to tackle the problem is just to nip out the tops when the bean plants reach about 90cm (3’). Try steaming the tops with a little butter, absolutely delicious. • If you want more information on various aspects of gardening, click the link to go to the Hayes Garden World blog site for informative and inspirational articles and videos: • https://www.hayesgardenworld.co.uk/blog • Click the link to read the blog covering this topic: • https://www.hayesgardenworld.co.uk/bl... • Watch this video to see how we sowed broad bean Aquadulce Claudia for an early spring crop: • https://www.hayesgardenworld.co.uk/bl... • Link to blog post: http://bit.ly/1SQNmvI • Like us on Facebook: http://on.fb.me/1DWGKKA • Follow us on Twitter: http://bit.ly/1DB2vxn • Follow us on Google +: http://bit.ly/1GD7eBf
