Second round of the 10th International FRANZ LISZT Piano Competition Weimar-Bayreuth 2021 • Shota Kaya, piano (2nd prize winner) • For the interpretation of Saint-Saëns's Album Shoto Kaya was awarded the special prize for the best interpretation of a work by Saint-Saëns. • Shota Kaya was born in 2000 in Tokyo (Japan). Currently, he is studying at Tokyo College of Music. The motto of the pianist, who has already won several prizes in Japanese piano competitions, is simply to become not just a good pianist, but a great musician.
