How to Identify Transferable Skills - We’ve all heard stories of someone starting a job with a company just out of high school or college, and staying with that same company and maybe in that same role until they retire. The concept of lifer, cradle to the grave, gold watch retirement, seems pretty uncommon these days. Even if someone does stay with a company for their entire career, they will most certainly have various positions through lateral moves and promotions. • This means most of us will need to think about the current work we are doing and how it applies to other careers. When you are creating your resume, networking, and interviewing your main goal is to highlight the skills and experience that you have developed which are transferable to that new role you are seeking. Degrees, certifications, and credentials imply a certain high level of knowledge, which is excellent to have. Transferable skills from work experience can truly help you to stand out. • My buddy Mike Prusaitis, senior project manager at frog talks about the transferable skills from previous work that has helped him in project management. • Connect with Mike Prusaitis - / mikeprusaitis • Fresh gear here - https://teespring.com/stores/ians-sto... • Let’s connect here - https://linktr.ee/gro.up • B-Roll Video by Mikhail Nilov, Tima Miroshnichenko, Rodnae, Mart Productions, Kindel Media from Pexels.
