This tutorial will show beginner astrophotographers how to quickly and efficiently process the Orion Nebula, Messier 42. This will focus on a stack of images that are all the same length (in the case of this video, 30 seconds). The core of the Orion Nebula is blown out in the vast majority of astroimages, which is just fine. Here I show a simple way to tone down the overexposed core, while retaining detail. • There are definitely more advanced processing methods. This is just a basic guide for those getting started.
