Amicalola State Park Amicalola Falls Cinematic Tour Amicalola AT Approach Trail

A visual tour of the falls and Appalachian Trail Approach Trail at Amicalola State Park situated in the Chattahoochee National Forest. Located northeast of Dawsonville, Georgia this park offers fantastic views of the waterfalls as you climb over 600 steps to the top (about 1/3 of a mile up and back). If you'd rather avoid the stairs you can take the West Ridge Falls Access Trail which is about a half mile to the top but it is steep in areas. We took part of it coming down but it's definitely hard on the knees. The Amicalola State Park Lodge offers luxury accommodations and Cascades Restaurant and proximity to several hiking trails with the AT being only 8 miles away via the AT Approach Trail.
