It delivers subtle hints of iris and violet. There are distinctive aromas of dried fruit such as digs, prunes, and luscious raisins. It has a certain vinous character with subtle floral undertones and a whiff of marzipan and orange peels. • 08:28 Palate • Soft and mellow on the palate's opening, it's dry overall but offers a hint of sweetness at the back. It features an elegant balance of freshness that consist of wine qualities. It has notes of spice such as cinnamon, cloves, and nutmeg. Expect also stewed and dried fruit that are somewhat reminiscent of prune and apricot. Almonds may also express themselves but with a more charred personality. Dry spice prolongs the finish and leves a refined creamy and full-bodied mouthfeel. • 11:23 Overall Experience • The label is elegant and slick with a beautifully packaged presentation. It's an occasional drink but still within a relatively affordable price point. It offers excellent value for money as it's somewhat more affordable than some other better-known cognacs. • 12:01 Pairings • Although Reinhard isn't a fan of pairing alcoholic spirits with cognac, he would consider an elegant Ecuador Habano wrapped cigar. Otherwise, consider others pairings like dried apricots, crêpes Suzeette as well as brioche or even foie gras. • Already tried Courvoisier X.O. or have any questions?
