How To Make Chocolate Babka

Chocolate Babka is a sweet, soft, and glossy chocolate bread braided into delightful swirls. • Subscribe to my channel here: / @bakeoutoflove • Babka Ingredients: • Flour 2 ¼ cups • Yeast 1 tbsp • Lukewarm Milk ½ cup • Egg 1 • Sugar ¼ cup • A pinch of salt • Vanilla Essence 1/2 tsp • Butter at room temperature 70g • Chocolate Chips ¼ cup (optional) • Nutella 200g • Method: • Mix lukewarm milk and instant yeast in a bowl and set it aside for a few minutes. Then add egg, sugar, and give it a good whisk. Add all the dry ingredients, mix and when everything just starts coming together, then start adding softened room butter bit by bit. Knead until the dough is smooth. Transfer it to a greased airtight container and keep it in the fridge overnight or for at least 5 hours. Take it out of the fridge, roll it out on a floured surface and then spread some Nutella onto it and sprinkle dark chocolate chips as well if you wish. Roll it into a roulade, cut it into half and make a braid as shown in the video. Transfer it to a loaf pan lined with parchment paper. Cover it with damp towel and set it aside for 1 to 2 hours for proofing. Bake it in a preheated oven at 190C/375F for 30-35 minutes. As soon as you take it out of the oven, generously brush the babka with sugar syrup. • Sugar Syrup: • Water ¼ cup • Sugar ¼ cup • Method: in a saucepan, add water and sugar. When it comes to a boil and all the sugar has been dissolved, allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes. Take it off the heat and allow it to cool down. • 🔸Instagram: / bakeoutoflove
