Click To Subscribe: http://bit.ly/1bqZSl5 • • This is the 'Pöd' part of a Börgeet by Madhabdev from the audio album Börgeet and Ghôxā- Vol 1. • Börgeet ('songs celestial ) are a collection of lyrical songs that are set to specific ragas. These songs, composed by Srimäntä Xänkädev ( Sankardeva ) and Mādhävdeva in the 15th-16th centuries, are used to begin prayer services in monasteries, e.g. Xäträ ( Satra) and Nāmghär associated with the Ekasarana Dharma; and they also belong to the repertoire of Music of Assam outside the religious context. These are written in ancient Assamese, which ia a mix of Maithili, BrajBoli and regional dialects. We have tried recording these in the the traditional manner. This album also contains two songs by their disciple Sri Gopāldev and two Ghôxās which were sole creations of Mādhäbdev.
