only real ones know how important this level is to me • So this is a level that took me a total of 3 years to beat. Yep, you read that right. Nothing in this game has ever taken me as long as this level, and hopefully it stays that way. I'm gonna walk you through the whole backstory between me and this level so you get the gist of its importance. • So back around the end of 2020, I was looking for another hard level to try and beat since I wasn't sure what my next hardest should be. Keep in mind, at the time, my hardest demon was Ziroikabi, which was a TOP 75 DEMON in 2020. Then, I came across kowareta, which was a top 15 demon. It looked incredibly hard, but I felt like it was possible for me to do it. So, in December, I gave it a try and grinded, and I mean GRINDED the second half. It took me like a week straight of playing the level before I could even do 55-100 my first time, and I was already racking up the attempts super fast. At the time, one of the good friends TheSlammed was thinking of doing Erebus but wasn't sure if he should really go for it. I gave him the motivation to do it by telling him that if he beat Erebus, I would follow through with finishing kowa. A couple weeks later, I learned the whole level and got 37 (what does the flox say), but then my motivation to beat it started to really die out since the first 30% was just terrible for me to play. So, I stopped playing it for a while. • I don't think I ever picked it back up seriously since the beginning of 2021. Slammed beat Erebus in May 2021, but I still didn't come back to it. I've been haunted by kowa for the past 3 years, along with the 30k attempts I grinded just to get it in 3 runs. I knew I needed to beat it eventually, I just didn't know when. • Finally, last week, I decided that I needed to finish this off once and for all. When I saw popular streamer and friend of mine AeonAir take this on as his next wheel level after no jokes, my motivation to finish this off finally came back. I started playing it a bit, and all my muscle memory ended up sticking around, and I ended up doing the level in 3 runs again really quickly. It took me around another 10-12k attempts to beat it, but since I had so much experience before, I ended up getting really lucky with the drop, with only around 16 total drop attempts. I haven't felt this much relief with beating a really hard level in such a long time, probably back when I beat PPF in March of 2022. Not giving up on this after 3 years is probably one of my greatest achievements in this game, even if kowareta isn't even considered as hard as it used to be anymore. • Now, I'm gonna talk about the level itself. You would think that I probably hate this level since it took so long, right? Well, I don't. It's weird to say, but I think kowareta is actually very fun when you can do it. The drop is super fun and satisfying to play, and once you get good at it, you REALLY get good at it. The predrop, albeit hard, was also pretty enjoyable, especially since the part from 33-56 got super consistent. The only part that I didn't really like was the first cube, specifically from 0. Playing from 0 was actually so demotivating for me, not just because of the first green orb, but also because you just don't feel like you get anywhere even after the first timing. I think the first 30% is the hardest part, but that's really only because I never got good at it unlike the rest of the level. Also, I personally find this level harder than Sigma, mainly due to my experience.
