Lesson 1 of 12 - Introduction to TurboCAD • In this series of 12 free YouTube video tutorials, follow along as I describe step-by-step instructions on how to use the 2D tools within TurboCAD (Computer Aided Design) to draw up a full set of RC model airplane plans. We will start with a “blank sheet of paper” and end up with a full set of radio control model airplane plans. • Note that this is an older Version 8 of TurboCAD for Windows. The TurboCAD tools and techniques (snap, bisect, line, curve, mirror, etc.) are all the same for a 2 dimensional plan for model aircraft. Most of the changes and improvements for any CAD program lie in the 3d (three dimensional) and animation functions. • TurboCAD is an affordable CAD program for home use. I have been using TurboCAD since 2000 and have had six model airplane plans published in the modeling press. • The video provides an overview of the basic user interface of TurboCAD and how to best use this popular consumer Computer Aided Design program on your own RC model aircraft designs.
