Bleomycin demonstrates sequence selective DNA binding and cleavage, resulting in DNA degradation. In vitro, bleomycin-induced DNA degradation is dependent on oxygen and metal ions, such as iron. • Bleomycin is a medication used to treat cancer. This includes Hodgkin's lymphoma, non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, testicular cancer, ovarian cancer, and cervical cancer among others. • Several pulmonary syndromes are associated with its use and dermal hyperpigmentation, and/or skin fibrosis can also occur [1]. Pulmonary toxicity is the most feared complication of bleomycin therapy and is relatively common.
