This slideshow by McGill Medicine and Dentistry students showcases elements of the curriculum, the social life or extracurricular opportunities that students appreciate. • Credit Line - Most banks will offer you a credit line of 150,000 - 200,000$ as soon as you get accepted into medicine or dentistry. • Shadowing - the McGill Osler Society offers every month shadowing opportunities with doctors in the Montreal area and in particular fields of interest. • Dr. Noël and Dr. Behiery - Anatomy teachers • Recorded lectures - McGill uses a system that records the teacher voice for every class along with his slide or overhead projector. You are then able to stay home and listen to your classes within 24 the next 24 hours. • Gerts - Official bar on campus • Trottier - One of the building near Strathcona where med and dent students go to have lunch and coffee. • Anatomy - Still practice on real cadavers, which explains why the picture is taken outside of the lab. Only current students of medicine, dentistry, anatomy and OT/PT may access it. • The mountain - Mont-Royal, a beautiful mountain is right next to the campus. Makes it easy to go for a run or pic nic. • Sexperts - A student initiative that offers sexual education in high schools since these topics are not covered anymore with the teachers. • Fancy Classroom - Most classes in the first year are in the C.P. Leblond amphitheater, also called M-1. • 7+ year degree - As we can see an MD-PhD candidate starting his journey. • Class trip to the ballet - Student initiative in order to get cheaper prices. • Small group - Part of the curriculum to review cases and have informal discussion about the material. • Choir - For fun and to present at the Memorial service at the end of the year, a service to all those who donated their body for the anatomy lab. • QHIG - Queer Health Interest Group • Pre-printed notes - At the beginning of every unit, you are given pre-printed notes. So no need for you to constantly print or buy expensive textbooks. All you need to know is in these. • Osler Fellow - A mentor that supervises a group of 6 students in the same year. Meetings are organised in restaurant, people's home to talk about school and reemphasize the importance of every step of the training. This group stays the same for the fours years of M.D.,C.M. or D.M.D. to see the evolution. • Physicianship - A part of the curriculum where sessions are organized to cover and explore some of the non-academic skills that it takes to be a great healer. • Pass/Fail - In the first 18 months of medical and dental school, your grades don't matter. As long as you pass your units, you are fine. Upon applying to residency, they will only see that you passed x units. Students have then the opportunity to do other activities on the side and cultivated themselves outside of the bench. • Cheer - Every year at the MedGames McGill has a cheerleading sqad made up of med/dent students only. Look at this year video    • Mcgill Cheer Medgames 2012.mov   • CHAP - Community Health Alliance Project
