For more information on PVA: http://bit.ly/1lrIjIE • PVA, along with a parting agent such as our Partall Wax, allows for a quick and easy release of parts from a mold. As a dry film, this PVA is resistant to solvents in a resin system, but is still water soluble. In this video we will discuss when and how to use PVA in your fabrication process. • Some considerations to keep min mind, while using PVA: • While PVA can be brushed on, for best results it should be with a spray gun, 12-18 inches away from the substrate. • You will generally wish to apply three layers, the first, a thin mist, allowing for 10-15 minutes to dry completely. Then apply two heavier flow coats, allowing for a complete dry. (30-45 minutes each) • PVA should NOT be used with resin or substrate that contains, or produces, water during the cure. • One gallon of PVA will cover approximately 400 square feet. • Want to know more about Mold Construction?
