In this project, we will upgrade a traditional shortwave superheterodyne receiver with an Arduino base tuner. This tuner is capable of receiving shortwave broadcasts on 41m band and above. • This modularized receiver consists of a transistor base mixer, I.F amplifier, Si5351 clock generator, and an Arduino Uno board. • This video shows all the steps of this project including, soldering, wiring, and adjustments. • Additional details and all the project files including Arduino sketch are available at http://jayakody2000lk.blogspot.com/20.... • Content of the video: • 00:00 - I.F amplifier PCB, and soldering all the resistors • 00:32 - Soldering all the capacitors • 00:50 - Soldering 455kHz I.F transformers • 01:10 - Soldering 2SC724 transistors • 01:22 - Placing and soldering all the connectors • 01:35 - Mixer and detector stage PCB, and soldering all the resistors • 02:05 - Soldering all the capacitors • 02:41 - Soldering inductors... • 02:56 - Soldering 2SC724 transistor • 03:04 - Soldering all the connectors • 03:18 - Core modules of the superhet receiver • 03:22 - Connecting I.F amplifier and mixer PCBs • 04:45 - Connecting Si5351 module to the Arduino Uno board • 05:00 - Connecting EC11 rotary encoder • 05:32 - Connecting Si5351 module to the mixer PCB. • 05:58 - Upload Arduino sketch into the Arduino Uno board • 06:28 - Tunning I.F amplifier using RF signal generator • 07:20 - Tunning on 25m band... • 08:07 - Tunning on 22m band... • 09:01 - Tunning on 19m band...
