https://cartervintage.com/products/gi... • A rare example of an early L-5, signed by the guitar's designer Lloyd Loar on Mar. 31, 1924. All of the legendary archtops - the Gibson Super 400, Epiphone Emperor, D'Angelico, D'Aquisto - trace their roots to the Loar designed L-5. The model was introduced late in 1922 and was Gibson's first archtop guitar with f-holes. • This example initially had a Virzi which has since been removed. The guitar also had block inlays put in on the fingerboard which have recently been replaced with the correct dot inlays. The pickguard is a replica and the guitar has been refretted.
