Gerhard Müller and Thomas Thurnher from TriTeam Lustenau (https://www.triteam.at/) tackled the so-called EVERESTING by bike on June 27th, 2020. They drove up and down between Batschuns and Furx all day. They were accompanied by some of our club members for a few laps, many also came to watch and cheer. • Basically, Everesting is about covering the height of the world's highest mountain (8848m), Mount Everest, in one piece by bike after complying with numerous requirements. You can only drive up and down the same route. Breaks are allowed, sleeping is prohibited. You can stop briefly to wash, change clothes or recharge your food. Details can be found under these links: https://everesting.cc/ and https://www.everesting.de/ • Gerhard Müller had already climbed 5002 meters in altitude within 8 hours and almost 3 minutes on June 1st when he had driven from Rankweil up to the Furka and back down again. He won the first Everesting title by cracking the 4424 meters of altitude. • This is half of the Everest height and thus the lowest variant of the 4 Everesting distances (heights). • There are 4424m / 8848m / 10000m and ROAM (10k with at least 400km) • Here are the explanations: https://everesting.cc/achievements/ • On June 27th, 2020 the time had come, Thomas Thurnher joined Gerhard's plan and they both started at 5:10 am in Batschuns at the level of the church. The day was hard and long! There was even a thunderstorm and heavy rain. While we were taking shelter, the two did their thing.
